Actually, although Thunacar Knott is really an insignificant pimple, it happens to be a few feet higher than all the area around, and good views abound. Here you can, by looking east, see the heights of Fairfield, on the right, St Sunday Crag in the centre far distance, and the Helvellyn ridge starting with Dollywaggon Pike on the left. And you can see all the north-western fells as far as Barf and Lord's Seat - so it is worth visiting after all!
